Over the years my wife and I have shared many of my guided hunting experiences from around the country. After returning from a deer hunt in Texas we compared the differences between the several operations. We tried to combine the best of these experiences and to apply them to our preserve plans here in Northeast Ohio. Oak Ridge Whitetail Adventure was soon born from those conversations.

 

Our work began the following spring. Over two miles of security fencing was installed. We cleared land and planted food plots. The construction of our first permanent stands began near the food plots and on natural travel routes. We spoke with experts on deer genetics, feeding and care to create a healthy deer population within our preserve. We now have a good number of our trophy bucks that were born here at ORWA.

 

We have discovered that our greatest rewards have been the time we have spent in the stands and in the lodge with our guests. We love sharing what is so special to us and what we have developed on our family farm. Each year we have had hunters qualify for Top Ten SCI record book entries. We also have taken many “first deer” and many others that have taken their largest trophies. To us, the experience and friendship is the “Trophy”.

 

We recently shared a hunt with two of our returning clients. At dinner the first evening we spent well over an hour laughing and reliving the previous season’s hunt. Four full days hunting finished off in the last hour of the fourth day with two satisfied and successful hunters. As we closed out the night I told Sonya that “we never even mentioned the two trophy bucks from last year.” That’s when it became clear that our EXPERIENCE is the DIFFERENCE at Oak Ridge Whitetail Adventure.
