Oak Ridge was an awesome experience, not just the hunt, but the whole deal. Sam and Sonya were just great people, down to earth and extremely gracious. Hunting with Sam was an incredible experience. He is very good at what he does and makes sure you are in the best possible position for success. Last day of full hunting we scored on a monster 181" buck. Dream come true! What an incredible experience we had while at Oak Ridge! We never imagined the experience to be so remarkable. Darryl always dreamed of taking a huge white-tail and when we came across your website, saw pictures, videos, and read your blogs, we were sold. First off I want to commend you on a first class operation that you run at Oak Ridge, between Sonya and yourself you make everyone feel like family. When I left Oak Ridge I never thought to myself "well I wish we would of done this" "Or I think he needed to do this" every minute spent there was a pleasure for me. I have been to alot of hunting camps and you are the first person to make me feel relaxed, I enjoyed hunting without any pressure. You are a top notch guide and know your whitetail's inside and out. You have the patience, drive and know how to make everyone's hunt very memorable. You cater the hunts to the hunter's needs and wants, never pushing or trying to steer a hunter to take an animal that he doesn't want, putting up with them knowing that there hunt could of been over. You let them hunt whitetails in there natural environment, teaching your clients along the way.
I have been hunting whitetails for over 30 years and you taught me things about a whitetails habits and mannerisms that are very useful. I came away from my hunt with Oak Ridge feeling more knowledgeable and relaxed and happy that I picked Oak Ridge, there are other places that a person could go for a hunt but I assure you the quality of the hunt wouldn't of been the same. That alone is priceless to me. The memories that I shared with you will live in my mind forever and I want to thank you again Sam for such a quality hunt.

Sam, here is my attempt at what you sell: After comparing a few different outfitters in the high fence arena I chose Oak Ridge with Sam Holley. It was evident that Sam was selling time together as hunters. He was selling a great conversation in a tree stand while we watched deer move about freely. He never said "there's your buck" as if I bought a deer. He was selling an experience of relaxation the way hunting should be. It was a time that there was no politics or economics. Even the pressure of being a Dad and a husband didn't exist. He was selling a time where the only responsibility that existed was enjoyment of the great gift of the outdoors.
When I talked to some other outfitters the talk revolved around "getting it done". That was the ultimate goal, of course. However, I wanted not to save $500, I wanted to enjoy time while I was getting it done. I forgot how to do that until I brought my son there away from home and then I brought my daughter. Then I hunted myself. It was cool!

"We were never able to connect on a true trophy until we came to ORWA..."
Sam, Thanks so much for the great experiences we had at Oak Ridge Whitetail Adventure. Joe and I have hunted all of our lives and killed many deer in several different states. Although we have had considerable success, we were never able to connect on a true trophy until we came to ORWA. A hunt should not be measured strictly by the size of the antlers, but it sure helps when you have the opportunity to harvest two deer of the caliber that we were fortunate enough to take on our trip to ORWA.
The hunt was even more than we expected and we were impressed with the great meals prepared by Sonya, the fantastic accommodations, our guides (you, Pete, and Daniel), and the diversity of the property we hunted. My second trip to ORWA with my Grandsons was just as impressive. Ryan was very pleased with his deer and Evan is still talking about his experience at ORWA. I was fortunate to kill my deer early in the hunt, but Joe and Ryan had to put in long hours each day until they were finally successful on the last day of the hunts.
The anticipation and uncertainty of these hunts made them even more exciting and enjoyable. I look forward to our next trip to ORWA and thanks again for such a memorable experience.

Dear Sam and Sonya:
Thanks again for the great time at the Lodge. I enjoyed the hunt but really enjoyed the time we spent together. As you know I have limited access to hunting areas like so many people. My time is also limited due to family and business responsibilities. I did not fully recognize the value you offer until I went through my schedules of the past few years. Please allow me to explain the cost of my "free hunting":
I spent on average 60 hours away from my family and office preparing for hunting over the course of the year. This included time visiting the property owners, scouting, stand maintenance etc…. It does not include the cost of gasoline, gun maintenance and shotgun shells. I am also leaving out the scheduled vacation time used for the week of shotgun season. The hunt packages you have put together are a bargain compared to what I have been doing. The value is in both time and money.
The hunting experiences I have had at Oak Ridge are a combination of the best experiences of my free hunting without the work. Thanks again for the great memories.

"Rich memories that will last a lifetime..."
My son and I have been to Oak Ridge four times now. Matt shot his first buck at the age of nine using a .357 Marlin! He was too scared to use a larger caliber rifle and Sam was totally supportive.
Now, Matt is shooting a .243. Each time we have generated rich memories that will last last a lifetime. Sam and Sonya have always made us feel at home from the food to the conversation.
There is no pressure at Oak Ridge and I love how Sam values the fair chase aspect of these hunts. It is a great place for all and I especially recommend Oak Ridge for young hunters who can learn proper hunting techniques.

Sam was very patient with me during the hunt, passing on at least 10 bucks. He wanted me to be happy with the deer I took. And happy I was with a beautiful 22pt with a score of 215. What a magnificent hunt! It was the first deer ever for me with a crossbow that Sam let me use.
