Oak Ridge offers more than just hunting.

OTHER RESOURCES
The trophy buck of your dreams is waiting at ORWA.

"Will there be a guide with me to judge the antler size of the buck?"

Yes, all of our hunts are fully guided and the guides are there to assist you in estimating the score of your dream buck.
"What happens if I want a buck in the 180-190" class and shoot something bigger?"
At Oak Ridge we always error on the side of our hunters. If the guide tells you it is okay to shoot and the buck scores higher than your desired class, you still only pay for the prearranged class. If you shoot a buck that is below your class then you only pay for the smaller class.

"What methods can I use to take my deer at Oak Ridge?"

Because we are a Hunting Preserve you may choose the method you use throughout the season. We offer archery, shotgun, rifle, and muzzleloader hunting the entire season and have stands set up specific to meet your needs.
"Does Oak Ridge offer handicap access?"
Yes, we are fully handicap accessible and can design a hunt to meet your special needs.

"Does the trophy fee cover my total hunt cost?"
No, we have a base cost of $850/hunter which covers your lodging, meals and guide for up to three days of hunting. The trophy fee is in addition once you have taken a trophy buck.

Keep up with the latest happenings at OWRA.
"If I do not take a deer during my hunt what will be my cost?"
If you do not take a trophy buck during your hunt - for whatever reason - you are only responsible for the base cost of $850/hunter. We will make every effort to get you the buck of your dreams.

"How much of a deposit is required to book my hunt?"
We ask for a $1000 non-refundable deposit on each hunt to hold your specific dates.

"How do you conduct the hunts at Oak Ridge?"

We fair chase hunt all of the deer within the preserve. Our stands are set up at crossings, food plots, oak ridges, apple trees, etc., and we rely on the natural movement of the deer. We also will do spot and stalk hunts when requested although these hunts are much more difficult and the success rates are lower.
"What is the best time of year to come for my dream hunt?"

There is not a bad time to come for your hunt, and it depends on what type of experience you are looking for. October offers great fall foliage and the pre-rut is starting to heat up. It also offers warmer temperatures. November is when our rut is in full swing and the deer are moving throughout the entire day. The rut can also make for a challenge to get the trophy bucks to stop where you want them. The bucks during November will normally respond better to grunt calls and rattling. December can be as good of month as any. We normally have at least some snow and the secondary rut will be heating up.
