The April snow has now found us officially as we woke up to an almost white ground this morning. It melts almost as quickly as it comes down but is still trying. The temps are somewhere around the thirty degree mark and it feels more like February than April! All of our flowers look like I feel today. The deer are probably thinking that we are headed in the wrong direction with the weather as well! The grass and food plots are looking greener every day and the bushes are even starting to have a green cast to them. The food will soon be available in abundance and they will all be taking advantage of it. I did spot a small bachelor group earlier this week and the bucks all had antlers that were well above the hair line and visible with the naked eye. This is very exciting to be able to spot the growth this early in the year and it show huge promise for this fall! Hard to believe that just a few weeks ago we were blogging about them dropping their antlers. The rain and snow have the rivers a little cloudy now but the water levels have not changed much. The rivers should all be fishable now and if you can stand the cold there should be a lot of fish and fewer fishermen the next several days.
