Fall Classic

The temperatures are heating up again just in time for the hunting season! The deer almost all have shed that reddish coat of summer and have started growing that brown coat for winter and it looks like they may have been a little early this year? The velvet is also coming off quickly and the hard antlers of fall will be here in time for our first hunters.

The trophy bucks actually look better this year in hard antlers. When you have a group of large typicals mature bucks they look a lot cleaner once they have shed. The droptines are still looking great and can easily be seen now. The rubs on trees are showing up everywhere and I have seen a couple of early territorial scrapes already. Next will be the sound of those antlers clanking in the early evening air! Bring on those first hunters!
