Spring Mud Season?

We have had an incredible run of warm weather for NE Ohio in January. This streak has it feeling more like spring mud season than frosty January! The lake effect snow machine has been more like a water park in July and we have been getting plenty of cool rain. What a mess!

The incredible run has not dampened our trophy buck hunting and we closed out another great weekend with successful hunters. We hosted a father, son, and daughter team this time and all three of them were together for all of the hunts. What a great experience to be able to share these special family moments. Sean started us off when he connected on the “Split G-2 Buck”. He scored 155” was almost perfect side to side. Taylor was next up and after looking past several smaller bucks she settled her crosshairs on a great 204” trophy. He sported spectacular brow tines and was also closely matched side to side. Both of them had made perfect shots and the pressure was now directly placed on Dad. After sitting for an hour and a half in thick fog we finally had a great 160” emerge into view. Dad was up to the task and we had our third great Ohio trophy buck!

Deer hunting in Ohio can give you some wonderful unexpected twist with the weather but the memories and adventures will last a lifetime!
