The weather is finally beginning to feel more like hunting season and we are even starting to see some color mixed into our maple trees! The temperatures are still on the high side but the eight day forecast finally has thirties mixed into the lows. The first frost will help to get the bucks moving and should also knock back some of the mosquitoes!
Our trophy bucks are all hard antlered now and they have started to get a little more serious with the evening battles. We have even been catching some of these disputes on our trail cameras. There are a few scrapes opened up now and appear to be getting hit fairly regular.
Rich kept our season rolling with a great typical trophy buck! This buck was chasing other bucks and even stopped long enough to check a few of the does that were already in the food plot! This great buck scored gross 208” and net 202” typical. That is a really high bar for us to try and beat with our typical bucks this fall.
