June Showers

We are getting our share of the “June showers” this year in NE Ohio. We have had over 4 ¾” again in the last two days. Thunderstorms seem to be the normal afternoon and evening events now and depending on where you are located you can get dumped on with rain. If you travel just two miles north of us they have received over 7” in the same time period. We are dealing with a bit of flooding around here now. The crops all seem to be doing really good with the extra rain although it can make baling hay difficult this time of year.
Our trophy bucks continue to get better every day. They seem to enjoy the rain and break from the heat. We have our “Velvet Buck” from last year really getting big this year and he should be well past the 300” mark this season. Not sure how many scorable points he will have but it will be high! The typical framed bucks are also looking great and you can really start to see the tines now. We have seen several great bucks with 5 x 5 frames and even a 6 x 6 this week during the evening. It is still a little early to see if we can recognize them from last year but we are getting closer. I also had a trail camera photo of a drop tine buck but it was not the best quality photo.
