Final Touches

We are into that time of year when everything is trying to finish up and get ready for fall. The trophy bucks are putting on the final touches to their already great racks. The acorns are filling out their shells. The apples are all turn color and ripening. What an exciting time of year to be a hunter looking forward to an Ohio whitetail hunt this fall!
We had a chance to spend a little bit of time on stand this week and with the luck of our cooler temps were able to capture some great early evening photos. It looks like our mature bucks are finishing up their final stages of growth and within the next three weeks we can expect to see some velvet starting to come off.The fawns are slowly slipping their spots and the winter coats are starting to be seen on more deer every week.
The summer projects are almost completed for the year and like the bucks we are wrapping up the final touches getting ready for the coming season. One more double check for bees and a fall cleaning on the box stands, new straps on all the ladder stands, and keeping up with the trail cameras. We are moving the “Trophy Trailer” this week back into the red oaks on the ridge. As the list gets shorter we look forward to sharing fall hunting with our friends at Oak Ridge Whitetail Adventure!
