Humidity

At least for the moment it appears as though we may be getting a slight taste of summer before September arrives. It has been in the mid-eighties the last several days and with the humidity it feels more like 95+. I know that our southern friends would laugh about these temps but after you get used to our wonderful fifties thru seventies it gets hot.

The bucks still look like they are expecting an early fall and you can see from the trail camera photos that they are shedding quickly. They are still holding on to their velvet and we have not seen any changes yet. But if you hunt Ohio deer you know that they will all be in full hard antler by the middle of September. The acorns are starting to drop a little and combined with the higher temps and humidity it will most likely start the deer moving back deeper in the woods. To hunt trophy bucks this year you will need to stay up on the red oak trees locations that are providing the acorns.
