With the official start of fall just days away we have found our first scrapes of the season. The trophy bucks are pretty much all hard antlers now and rubs can be seen all around the preserve. The morning temps have been dipping to low forties and it has the mature bucks jumping. You can hear the distant clinking of antlers and while it is still not overly serious it is beginning to occur more frequently every day.
The acorns can be heard falling with the slightest breeze and the wild grapes are fully purple now. Some of the early leaves have started to drop and the yellows, reds and oranges of fall have begun to creep into the field edges. It is finally deer hunting season in NE Ohio!
