Great September Finish

We finished off our September with Rich joining us for a full week of excitement. The weather changed into the perfect week with several days not showing a cloud in the sky. The moon phase was just coming off the new moon and the night time temps were down near 40 degrees. Combine these factors with the acorns raining down and the leaves beginning to show the colors of early fall and what a great time to deer hunt Ohio!
Our hunt started with us in the Condo Stand as that is where the trail camera photos had been capturing a great non-typical buck. After four hours in the stand we spotted a buck rubbing a tree in the distance. As the shadows were fading the buck finally worked his way into us and presented a quartering away shot. Rich made a perfect heart shot and after a short tracking effort we had a great 282” Trophy Buck.
Our trail camera photos also had been getting a heavy massed typical buck down at the Ramp Patch Stand and that is where we were going to focus next. On the third day Mervin joined us to guide Rich. The 228” typical came thru checking the food plot for other deer and after another perfect shot Rich had his second trophy buck.
