Halloween Magic!

If you hunt Ohio then you should understand the “Halloween Magic”! The trophy bucks are on the move and many of them fall to the hunters on Halloween evening every year. The peak rut is still about a week away and the bucks are looking for that first hot doe of the season. Here at Oak Ridge Whitetail Adventure it is playing out exactly that way and what an exciting week we have had in the stands.

We took three great bucks this week and all three of them were in the full swing of the rut. Swollen necks, chasing does and making scrapes seems to be the normal now rather than the exception. It has become a bit harder to call the bucks as they are much more intensely following the early does. Although it does mean that if you can get into a prime feeding area the does will produce bucks for you! Our father and sons team this week were all able to connect on great typical framed trophy bucks.
