The Peak!

The peak rut has arrived and now is the time to be hunting NE Ohio! The bucks are no longer searching for the right doe but rather they are tending her. Making sure that she does not wonder off into another bucks area! The scrapes that are being opened up now are serious and if you can find an active scrape line now is the time to hunt it. With the moon waning over the next several days the next week should find you in the woods!
We have had another very busy week here at Oak Ridge and we were able to take two really great bucks with beautiful typical trophy racks. We started the week off with our friends from Vermont, Jim and Sherry. We were finally able to get Jim his heavy, wide eight point buck and there were zero extras. What a beautiful trophy buck. We then finished our week with a great five by six heavy typical and were able to get it done with a bow. What an exciting time of year to be in the tree stand.
We still have hunt dates available in December and it looks like these could very well be snowy hunts this year. If you are looking for that last minute hunt give us a call and we can discuss details.
