2014 Closing Quickly

If you have something you wanted to get finished in 2014 you had better get started! With only three more days left this year we are busy making plans for the year 2015. Oak Ridge Whitetail Adventure has continued to grow each year since our beginning back in 2008. It looks like that trend will be continuing into our eighth season. We have started booking hunts for next season and many of our dates are already booked. Now is the time to start checking with your outfitters if you are looking to hunt next fall. The Outdoors Sportsman Shows will begin next month and the dates will fill up quickly. It always comes down to first come first served once deposits are received. Start planning now for a great hunt next fall!

Our year end weather is starting to turn cooler again and it is finally feeling more like late December. We had temps in the high fifties this week and you can see the effects by all of the sick people. The break has been enjoyed by all of our deer and they are still taking advantage of the exposed green food plots. The secondary rut has pretty much come to an end and the deer are trying to rebuild their fat supplies as we move into January. The trophy bucks especially are all turning their attention to the readily available food. They have run a lot of the reserves off chasing the does. There are still a few chances to fill your tags hunting deer in Ohio with the statewide muzzle loader starting this coming weekend. You can also still hunt Ohio with the archery season until the end of January.
