Thunder Boomers

This last week has left us with an abundance of rain and plenty of fireworks to go with it throughout NE Ohio. The thunder storms of summer have arrived and the evening and early morning shows have been spectacular. We have had close to eight inches of “liquid sunshine” this last week and places around us have had a lot more. These showers have the food plots and all plants growing like crazy and the deer are taking full advantage of the plentiful food supplies.

The trophy bucks are starting to separate themselves from the younger bucks now and can easily be seen from a distance. They are still leaning heavy to the typical frames and some of them are really looking great. We have seen several good 5 x 5 racks this week and at least one 6 x 6. There are several split brow tines already and a couple still show potential for some non-typical racks but it is still very early for them. The excitement this week has been a couple spotted that are starting drop tines but we have not been able to get any photos or trail camera pictures of them yet.
