If the last hour of the day is “magic hour” for hunting whitetails then the first two weeks of November are “Magic Rut”. The bucks in NE Ohio are chasing like crazy and you can see them anytime day or night. The number does are still playing hard to get but they will be ready shortly as well. The bucks are locking on the does now and the calls have had little to no effects on them this last week. Our weather has also been unseasonably warm and that seems to have the does holding tighter during the afternoon hours. Once the sun begins to drop so are the temperatures and the chase in on again!
