Time in the Barrel

The rut is now in full swing and the mature does are all getting some very close attention from the bucks. The NE Ohio area had been unseasonably warm over the past week and then a cold front came thru leaving us with more normal temperatures and rainy days. This drop in temps turned up the heat on the rut and I think we have finally hit the peak.
We have had two good hunts since our last post and taken a couple of really great typical bucks. Both of them were perfect ten points with very little to no extras. And they scored 165” and 170”. Both of these hunts had us down to the third morning and then the right doe happened by with her bucks following. We were treated to some great fighting action and got to witness firsthand the show that comes with the peak rut.
We are about half way thru our hunts for the season and still have a limited number of 200” + hunts available for this year. If you are looking for a great mature typical buck hunt give us a call.
