As December gets started it is time to start looking toward the Holiday Season. The football games are down to play offs and conference championships. As Coach Lee Corso would say “Not so fast my friend”! There is plenty of hunting yet for this year before we get to the bowl games and New Year!

The deer are slowly getting down off the rut and the patterns are finally becoming more of a routine again, but these patterns will be turned over again toward the end of December when the secondary rut begins. Until that happens the bucks will be trying to pack on some of the weight that they dropped during the chase. Take advantage of this opportunity and hunt the food sources. It will not be long until the bottom drops out of the temperatures and the animals know this and will try to bulk up now.
