Political Weather?

Our weather in February seems to have more ups and downs than a room full of people trying to get elected. The temperatures are ranging from the mid-fifties to the single digits. We finally lost our snow and now it is pouring the rain and predicted to change back over to snow? The breaks are welcome and allow us to get a jump on some of our spring projects but the snow reminds us that we are still a few weeks early to put away the flannel shirts!

The melting snow helped to flush out the river ice and once the water drops back to normal it should provide us with some early steelhead fishing! We have been to the river twice this week and it is still impossible to even think about wading. The turkeys on the other hand are gobbling and started to sound off just after 6:00 am this last weekend.

The trophy bucks are still trying to hold out on some of the antlers and it looks like about half of them have shed at this point. If we get the colder weather they are predicting this week it should put the rest of them on the ground. Early March is usually the time to begin more intense shed hunting and it looks to be holding true again this year.
