Finally had a cooler break and it sure does feel like hunting season when you walk outside in the early morning! The temperatures may move back up this week but the change is under way and soon we will be headed to the tree stands! Some of the early apples have started to drop and the golden rod, college football games, and leaves changing are coming to a Saturday woods near you soon!
The velvet is already changing color and you can see by the pictures that many of the trophy bucks are finishing up for the year. You can also see the reddish summer hair giving way to the browner coats of winter. Within the next month we will begin to see them start the shedding process and then the fresh rubs will start to show up! We have a great group of mature bucks this year with a mix of typical, non-typical, and drop tines! It promises to be an exciting deer season in NE Ohio!
